ACTIVITIES OF DAILY LIVING
Diamond Services will support individuals with disabilities with their activities of daily living to enable them to live as independently as possible.
Diamond Services will deliver their services professionally working in accordance with NDIS rules and regulation etc that govern disability services providers.
Activities of daily living (ADLs) are basic tasks that must be completed every day for a person to live well. Activities of daily living can be narrowed down into the following classifications:
- Personal hygiene: Bathing, grooming, oral, nail and hair care
- Continence management: A person’s mental and physical ability to properly use the bathroom
- Dressing: Assessing and supporting the capability of person to select and put up a proper clothes for different occasions
- Feeding: Assess and provide support whether a person can feed themselves or needs assistance
- Ambulating: Assess and support the extent of an individual’s ability to change from one position to the other and to walk independently
- Companionship and mental health support: This is a fundamental and much
needed for daily living. This reveals on the help that may be needed to keep a person in a positive frame of mind - Transportation and shopping: Assessing and supporting how much an individual
can go around or buy their groceries and pharmacies needs without needing support - Preparation of meals: Assessing and supporting in planning and preparing the
various kinds of meals, a person needs. - Managing a person’s household: Cleaning, tidying up, removing trash and clutter, and doing laundry and folding clothes
- Managing medications Administration: Assessing and supporting persons on how much help may be needed in getting prescriptions filled, keeping medications up to date and taking meds on time and in the right dosages
- Communicating with others: Assessing and supporting a person with house choirs, phones, mail and mostly making the home hospitable and welcoming for visitors
